From conception of a new product or service, through the manufacturing and packaging process, until the product is delivered and applied on the farm, quality is the golden thread which is always considered with every decision that needs to be taken. 

Omnia’s Chemtech laboratories are instrumental in ensuring that our products, facilities and processes adhere to international and legally compliant practices. During the manufacturing process, samples from the production run are taken every hour and analysed to ensure that the chemical content is within specification, according to the registered values of the product. At the end of the production run, these samples are subjected to further quality tests, to make sure that the physical quality of the product is also guaranteed. Here the granules are tested for hardness, granule size, dust, abrasion, coating, bulk density and caking tendency.  

The physical quality of fertilizer granules is very important, as this will affect the ease and efficiency of application. Sub-standard fertilizer can cause a lot of frustration, wasted time and even affect crop quality and yield.  

Before the fertilizer batch is released, another chemical test is performed during which heavy metals are analysed to make sure that the fertilizer will be safe for use on crops, for grazing animals as well as for humans.
